Heading on vacation? Read this first!

Whether you’re heading to Grandma’s, stealing away to the mountains, or looking forward to catching some rays on the beach, you’ll need to get there. And for the vast majority of us, that’ll be by driving, with all of our luggage and family in tow.

As so many of us hit the road, it’s a good idea to remember the unique challenges you may face on the way to your destination. Here’s a few:

  1. If heading to the mountains, remember to check on your tires, brakes, and that your suspension is handling well. Mountain roads can be quite steep, putting higher-stress demands on your vehicle. In addition, the tight roads and turns take a toll, so ensure what you drive is up to the task!
  2. Beach-bound? The weather can often change in a hurry, so having good windshield wipers is often a must for those random showers that may appear. The high heat can also put additional wear on your car’s paint. And if you’re planning on driving on the beach itself, make sure to follow all of the rules and keep your car light.
  3. If going through wooded areas near less population, stay alert for wildlife! While it’s not peak deer season, they can still come out of nowhere.
  4. If your plans take you through Atlanta or another major metropolitan area like Charlotte, you may need strong acceleration and handling to go lane-to-lane on the interstate with all of that traffic. And definitely make sure your brakes and tires are in great condition!
We hope your summer travel is a wonderful experience!
